ABOUT
Florence Yip graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of British Columbia in 2005. She is certified in Acupuncture through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute and integrates acupuncture into her treatments to reduce pain and promote healing.
Florence has extensive experience in sports physiotherapy, having provided on-field care for the Meraloma Rugby Club, Capilano University Athletics, the Burnaby Men’s Soccer Orange Fury team, and the Canadian BMO Figure Skating Championships.
A lifelong learner and advocate for evidence-based practice,
Florence continually expands her expertise through postgraduate education. She is certified in Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation (CGIMS) a program affiliated with the University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Medicine, renowned for its world-class instructors. Florence has also completed the Fellow designation from the Canadian Association of Manipulative Therapists, recognized internationally through the International Federation of Orthopedic Manipulative Physical Therapists (IFOMPT) which is groups of Manual and Musculoskeletal Physical Therapists around the world who have completed stringent post-registration/post-graduation specialization programs in the field of neuro-musculoskeletal disorders. With a strong background in core stability training, she has taught core stability classes at City Square Physiotherapy in the early years of her career.
Outside of her professional life, Florence is passionate about strength training at Evolve Strength and enjoys being a dedicated hockey and soccer mom. Having been deeply involved in athletics for many years, she has retired from team sports due to her personal experience as a patient, having overcome a wide range of injuries. Drawing from both her extensive clinical expertise and her own rehabilitation journey, Florence effectively treats various injuries, including soft tissue injuries, motor vehicle accidents, chronic pain, overuse injuries, dizziness, TMD, and postural imbalances.
Passionate about promoting healthy aging, Florence is committed to helping her patients achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.
